In the Boston suburb of Lincoln MA, this mid-century modern home renovation was expertly designed by Flavin Architects. Their goal of maintaining the integrity of the original design included a riff on the 1950’s ‘floating kitchen’ trend. In this design, the kitchen is set back from the exterior wall allowing for floor to ceiling glass. They also opened up the kitchen/dining area by creating custom upper cabinets, that ‘float’ between the exposed ceiling beam and the PentalQuartz countertops in Super White Polished. In addition to the home’s original indirect light, further lighting was added to the kitchen work areas via linear LED lights. Beautifully captured by Nat Rea Photography.
