When it comes to selecting kitchen countertops, marble has been a luxurious choice for homeowners for ages. This modern kitchen designed by Kirstin Thorpe DiMartile, principal interior designer at Habitat Design Studio, uses a large expanse of Luce di Luna marble across the kitchen island and perimeter countertops. Luce di Luna is a versatile marble that pairs beautifully with grey, white and natural wood tones for a calming and organic feel. Natural Marble tile continues the delicate veining and texture through the backsplash. Dark wood floors and walnut accents above the range help to anchor the kitchen design and offer contrast to the formal white cabinets. Kitchen pendants from Schoolhouse Electric & Supply Co. and three streamlined stools add a touch of industrial edge finishing out the transitional look.
In the re-designed master bath, Lattice Polished PentalQuartz was used atop the vanity countertop and shower seat bringing marble style with the strength and durability of quartz. The creamy white of Lattice complements the soft grey cabinets for a bright and clean finish. A herringbone pattern made from Large subway tiles lines the walls behind the vanity and is repeated in a frameless glass shower. Spa-like finishes including a luxurious soaking tub and a large mirror from Restoration Hardware provide elegance while keeping the space open and full of natural light.
